Rock the Pistes returns to the Portes du Soleil ski area from March 14 to 20, 2027. Now entering its 14th edition, the festival combines days of skiing and snowboarding with live music on stages built directly beside the pistes.
The main concerts take place outdoors during the afternoon. Each performance is held at a different mountain location, encouraging attendees to ski across the area before gathering at the day’s stage.
The 2027 line-up has not yet been announced. Previous editions have featured French and international performers from rock, pop, rap and electronic music, including Chinese Man, Shaka Ponk, Selah Sue, Caravan Palace, Skip the Use and Ben l’Oncle Soul.
Access to the main mountain concerts is included with a valid Portes du Soleil lift pass. No separate concert ticket is required, although some stage locations can only be reached by ski or snowboard. Visitors should check the access information for each performance before setting out.
The music continues in the resort villages through more than 30 après-ski concerts. These shows are held in resort centres and are free to attend, giving skiers, snowboarders and non-skiers more chances to enjoy live music during the week.
Rock the Pistes takes place across the Franco-Swiss Portes du Soleil, which brings together 12 resorts and around 600 kilometres of pistes. Its cross-border layout allows skiers to move between France and Switzerland using a single Portes du Soleil lift pass.
The ski area has runs for a range of abilities, but reaching the mountain concerts may require travelling between resorts and using several lifts. Attendees should allow enough time for the journey and check lift closing times before leaving a concert.
Weather and snow conditions can affect mountain access, lift connections and performance arrangements. The official festival channels publish the latest stage locations, schedules and access details as the event approaches.
Rock the Pistes gives music fans the chance to ski in the morning, attend an open-air concert in the afternoon, and continue with an après-ski show in one of the resort villages. Check the official website for the 2027 line-up, daily programme and concert locations before planning your route.
